Performance of Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps on Unified Platform in Belgium, Q2 2021

In the second quarter of 2021, the top maps and navigation apps in Belgium on the unified platform displayed diverse trends in terms of downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads rising from around 10.2K in early April to a peak of approximately 15.7K by the end of June. Its weekly active users also increased significantly, starting at about 1.2M at the beginning of the quarter and reaching close to 1.6M by the end.

De Lijn saw a notable uptick in weekly downloads, especially in June, where downloads increased from about 4.5K in early June to over 7.4K by mid-June. Active users showed a slight increase over the quarter, starting at around 52K and peaking at approximately 55.9K.

4411 – Parking & Mobility experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, rising from approximately 3.4K at the start of April to over 5.1K by the end of June. Active users also grew modestly, from about 12.2K to 14.5K throughout the quarter.

GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic showed a gradual increase in downloads, starting at around 1.3K in early April and climbing to over 3K by late June. Weekly active users followed a similar upward trend, beginning at about 2.3K and reaching over 4.1K by the quarter's end. The app's revenue saw minor fluctuations, peaking at $22 in the first week of April.

Lastly, Moovit: Bus & Train Schedules had consistent growth in both downloads and active users. Downloads increased from roughly 1.9K to 3.6K, while active users rose from approximately 24.3K to 27.5K throughout the quarter.
